The song “Million Little Miracles” by Elevation Worship comes to mind, “Miracles on miracles, count your miracles, one, two, three, four, I can’t even count them all.” We often don’t take the time to really see miracles or give the glory (props) to God. A miracle is when we wake up each day, even when we are sleep deprived from classes and work but somehow our bodies still function. A miracle is when we know our bank accounts aren’t going to cover our expenses but somehow they do. A miracle is our existence when we just look at the complexity of human life. 

We call God the Ancient of Days, meaning He’s the same God from thousands of years ago to today; He is constant. As we look at the Son of God, Jesus, in the New Testament, miracles are not only what Jesus is known for, but they actually show who He is as a healer. His job every moment of every day is to heal. Many of His miracles include: healing the woman with bleeding (Mark 5:25-34), healing the blind man (John 9:1-11) and His resurrection (Matthew 28:1-7). Jesus cares about the actual physical needs of people too in the feeding of the 5,000 (Matthew 15:32-38) and calming of the storm (Luke 8:22-25). 

The question for me isn’t whether God still performs miracles today. The question is, are we looking, seeing and claiming them as miracles? Take time to see what God is doing in your life and in others around you. Share with your church, your Sunday School class and small group what God is doing. He’s still moving, stirring and up to the extraordinary and someone else may need to hear about your miracle.
