How can I prevent burnout from school and work?

Learn to balance your responsibilities with rest. Set realistic priorities, manage your time instead of putting everything off, and give yourself permission to take breaks. It’s also important to recognize when you’re overwhelmed and talk to someone you trust rather than trying to handle everything alone. Make time for things that refresh you — friends, hobbies, exercise, sleep, and most importantly, your relationship with God. These things can help you stay healthy and motivated.

As a divisional youth secretary in the USA Southern Territory, I prevent burnout by setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing what truly needs my attention, and remembering that I don’t have to carry everything myself. In my role, there will always be another need, event, or person to help, so I have to intentionally make room for rest, relationships, prayer, and time away from work. I’ve also learned that asking for help and empowering others to serve isn’t a weakness — it’s part of healthy leadership.

I want to serve from a place of being spiritually and emotionally healthy rather than serving until I’m completely exhausted.
