Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift surprised us in July when she released an album just 24 hours after being announced; this is a big shift compared to her previous album’s releases. Like everyone else, Taylor was cooped up in isolation due to COVID-19—probably bored and striking some creativity! The music is totally different from her other albums. The songs are sung from a new range of perspectives against acoustic arrangements that evoke folk music and chamber pop. “Folklore” is unlike any other album Taylor has ever written. Instead of the songs being, for the most part, songs about love and heartbreak, it actually focuses on different storylines and telling stories from different perspectives. The song “Epiphany” (which is probably my favorite from the album) is a haunting, almost cathedral-like song that talks about her grandfather’s service in World War II, and in the second half, switches to the fight against COVID-19. The song, like so many on the album, is so beautifully written and shows the genius of Taylor’s writing abilities. If you haven’t listened to the album yet, get on it! You will not regret it!

Josh Wilson

Josh Wilson released a new single on April 24 of this past year titled “Revolutionary,” in the midst of the pure chaos happening in the world. The song is lively, upbeat and has a great message: kindness matters! If you need a song to pump you up … this is the one! Listen to it now!

Hamilton: An American Musical

Okay, maybe you saw this coming, or maybe you didn’t, but the soundtrack for “Hamilton Musical” is straight FIRE! If you have not listened to this album, do it NOW! The songs are a mix of rap and showtunes and it will have you wanting to memorize every lyric!
