Does God really help you during hard times?

God is standing with you in the middle of your hard time. By Captain Christopher White

We all walk through times in our lives where we feel alone, or when we are reaching out to God and He does not seem to hear us. But my answer to this above question is a wholehearted YES!

My favorite person from the Bible is the prophet Elijah, whose story is found in 1 Kings 17 through 2 Kings 2. God enabled Elijah to do some incredible miracles, but when people in power bullied him, he got scared and ran away. 1 Kings 19:4 tells us he was so upset that he wanted God to take his life. However, God saw Elijah in that hard moment and sent an angel to take care of his physical needs, and then revealed Himself to Elijah through a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12).

God did not decide to remove Elijah from his hard time, or even make it easier for him. God demonstrated to Elijah that He was there for him. He was walking alongside Elijah in those hard moments and gave him the strength to keep going.

There are likely moments in your life when you want the pain, the heartbreak or the sadness to stop. In those moments, remember that God is on your side and will give you the strength to get through that hard time if you reach out to Him.

I hope that you are able to trust in God as your firm foundation, knowing that even though He may not take that situation away, He is standing with you in the middle of your hard time.
