How do I avoid living two different lives?

How do I avoid living two different lives: one at church and one outside of church?

The amount of energy it takes to be someone in one setting and another person in another setting is unrealistic and unhealthy. And it’s not how we were meant to live.

Living a double life is ungenuine to who we are and our identity in God. There is beauty in authenticity in all places and all spaces we find ourselves. Feeling the need to be two different people tells us we don’t know who our authentic self is.

We each should ask ourselves, “Who am I? Who do I want to be? Who has God made me to be?” Once we know that, we can walk in it and be the unapologetic self He created us to be. And we take that person with us, everywhere. We need authenticity in the church, but it will only show up if we have the courage to bring it.
