August is one of the hottest summer months as the sun is hitting its prime! The beach is one place you WILL want to be, whether you’re chilling by yourself, friends or family or at the lake or ocean, so hit up the beach! 

Beachwear can be so simple and cute—and very inexpensive if you look in the right places. I love looking for beachwear at the thrift stores because you can find pieces too big, plain, cozy or light, and turn it into a beach outfit or a swimsuit cover-up. 

A fun tip of mine is to head over to the older ladies’ section and find light and colorful button-ups, size up your normal size and turn it into a cover-up! Pair it with a belt, a hat or a hair scarf, and you are ready for a cute day at the beach. 

For guys, the possibilities are endless as well with bucket hats, crazy button-ups that you wouldn’t wear anywhere else but the beach, and cheap flip flops too. 

Before you leave the thrift store on your beachwear hunt, don’t forget to pass by the bag section. You can find a cute backpack, belt bag or purse to bring along for your sunscreen and beach read!
