Movie Review: Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse
Movie reviewer Micah Trimmer explains why Spider-Man climbed its way to the top of the charts.Rating: PG for frenetic sequences of animated action violence, thematic elements, and mild language.
Miles Morales, a fifteen-year-old from Brooklyn, has his life turned upside down after a fateful run-in with an experimental spider and the cities beloved protector, Spider-Man. Things get even stranger when multiple different spider heroes from alternate dimensions appear with the multiverse in peril. After years of hit-and-miss remakes and reboots, Sony delivers one of the greatest Spider-Man films. The visual animation style feels like an authentic comic—conveying things that live-action movies could only dream of. The well-written and delivered story
While a staple in the comics for nearly a decade, Miles Morales may be a surprise for people only familiar with Peter Parker. The character feels very relatable, and while being a little different from Peter, certainly not better or worse
