Taylor Swift

On December 11, 2020, Taylor Swift took the world by surprise by dropping another new album! Just five months after the release of her first surprise album, “Folklore,” Swift decided to shake things up again and made an announcement on Instagram just hours before her new album, “Evermore” dropped. To say that I was excited for this new album is a total understatement. This new album is “Folklore’s” sister album, as described by Taylor. This album is a beautiful contrast to her first surprise album, while still holding that indie-folk sound, but also submersed with acoustic guitars, pianos and strings. This album brings me back to original Taylor Swift in some of her older albums and I absolutely love it. The album features Bon Iver, Haim and the National, and the lyrics portray stories of different themes of love, marriage, grief and more. This album has been on repeat since it dropped, and I cannot get it out of my head. I thought I liked “Folklore,” but personally, it does not even compare to “Evermore.” If you have not listened to it yet, download it! I was impressed when Taylor dropped the first surprise album in the middle of a global pandemic, but to drop a second and be this good is just totally astonishing.

“Start Right Here” by Casting Crowns will make you want to rethink everything you have thought about change before. The song challenges us that if we want to see change in the world, we must begin with letting Jesus transform our hearts. Just trust me—go listen!

Released by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton in 2019, “There was Jesus” is one of my favorite songs. Not only is the song written and performed by two incredible musicians, but the lyrics behind it are just so moving. In the moments that we think God has left or forgotten about us, Jesus is there, always. Go listen!
