Morgan has been enrolled in gymnastics since she was seven, and took her balance and strength to the Special Olympics USA Games held in Seattle, Washington in July 2018. Selected as part of Team New Jersey, Morgan was one of two gymnasts making up a larger team of 60 athletes. 2,500 athletes compete in the state games each year. For the USA Games, the numbers jump up to 4,000 athletes.

At the US competition, Morgan won a gold medal in gymnastics for Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise (Level 2, Division 2c), a silver medal for All Around and placed 4th for vaulting and the balance beam.

“Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,” reads her Athlete’s Pledge from the Special Olympics. Though it takes great time, patience and dedication to learn a new routine or skill, Morgan repeats this affirmation and approaches each day with a smile and faith that God has her back. This faith also connects to her other affirmation: Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”(NKJV).

Morgan’s love for God and others can also be seen in the mission of the recent International SpecialOlympics Unified/Inclusion Sports Campaign she was selected for. (You may have seen Morgan on commercials, billboards, or even on brochures in the mail!) Her specific campaign for their 50th Anniversary is all about bringing people together, respecting differences and looking out for the lonely, left-out, challenged and bullied (Matthew 25:40).

Morgan attends church at The Salvation Army and has been a member since birth. In addition to being a soldier* she is part of the senior dance troupe. On any given Sunday, you can find her assisting with junior church, Sunday school, or helping out where needed with music and arts programs.

Whether it’s on a balance beam, a commercial, at church, or in her day-to- day life, Morgan loves Christ and wants to share His love with all who surround her.
