6 Things To Remember During The Busy Christmas Season
Here are six things to remember during the busy Christmas seasonYou may want to “do all the things” this Christmas season, like hanging out with your hometown friends, shopping for presents and other fun Christmas activities. Here are six helpful things to remember as the busy holiday season approaches.
1. Read Your Bible.
Overall, continue to read your Bible every day. Start the day with God’s Word to prepare your posture throughout the rest of the day. Meditate on God’s Word and listen to uplifting Christmas music.
2. Spend Quality Time With Family.
Christmas vacation is a time when you may want to hang out with your hometown friends. But don’t ignore your family. Sit down at dinnertime and ask questions about how the other is doing. Serve in your community with your family if possible.
3. Pray When Feeling Overwhelmed.
When feeling overwhelmed, i.e. stuck waiting in the longest line at the department store the week before Christmas or trying to calculate your Christmas budget, take a moment to pray. Talk to God about these worries and anxieties and yield them to the Lord.
4. Set Boundaries.
Have several commitments this season? Whether they be Christmas parties, out-of-town guests, work/school or other activities, remember that you can say no. Don’t neglect your time and health; you don’t have to say “yes” to everything.
5. Stay Healthy.
Don’t neglect your physical, mental or spiritual health. Practice your normal self-care activities, say no to things you don’t want to do and set boundaries.
6. Celebrate the Season.
Christmas is meant to be celebrated. Make time for the activities you want to do. Buy that seasonal coffee drink and listen to Christmas music and sing at church.
