November is a month of thankfulness, but also a good month for reflection as we near the end of the year. Bring out your journal to reflect on your growth, what you learned, your goals, etc. If you’re stuck on what to write about, try these six journaling prompts to get you started.

1. How have you changed in the past year?

Reflect on your growth from the previous year. How have you grown mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually? What has changed since last year? Have you set boundaries, opened yourself to new opportunities or tried new things?

2. How are your goals going from the past year?

Think of the goals you set at the beginning of the year. Have you made any progress on them? Maybe take this time to renew or modify those goals. Do they need a refresh to fit your needs and your schedule?

3. LIST your favorite movies and TV shows from the past year.

You may have spent the past year watching new shows and movies. List out those shows and movies and give proper ratings to them! Write down what you liked or didn’t like about those shows and movies. Did you like certain characters, plot points, costumes?

4. Write a letter to future you.

Where do you want to see yourself a year from now? What do you see yourself doing? The sky is the limit; don’t hold yourself back. Write down what you want and then  backtrack to how you can turn those dreams into practical goals.

5. Describe a time someone came through when you needed it most.

Can you reflect on a time when someone showed up for you? Reflect on how their actions made you feel, and maybe write on how you can continue the kindness and show it to someone else in your life.

6. Who inspires you in life right now?

Who is your role model? Who do you look to for inspiration? This can be someone in society, culture or history, but this can be within your family or friends. This can be someone who inspires you to be a better version of you.
