What do I do when life isn’t fair?

I have been watching my dad battle cancer for eight years. I still have days when I say this isn’t fair. I really had to take one day at a time. I ask the Lord every morning for strength to get through each day. Not, “Hey God, get me through this week.” I need help—daily help, to get through the tough days.

Don’t give up on God when the days are hard. Those are the times you need Him the most. If you are going through a hard time and you don’t get it, I promise you that you are not alone. Find someone to pray with you or talk with you. It’s never fun to watch hard times happen to our families. Remember that you are never alone.

Psalm 46:1-3 (NIV) says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

We may not understand everything He has for us, but never question where He puts a period.

It’s Easter this month but to be honest, I’m struggling to believe the whole story. How can I believe that Jesus really rose from the dead?

You are in good company. Lots of people struggle with the concept, thinking it’s either a make-believe fairy tale or myth.

The claims that Jesus made have been debated and debunked over the course of human history these past 2,000 years. An author and former investigative reporter, Lee Strobel was a self-pronounced atheist who gave ripping apart the claims of Christ a try. Upon learning that his wife became a Christian, he set out on a journey to attack the claims of Christianity and settle the issue once and for all. In his classic bestselling book, “The Case for Christ,” Strobel concludes: “Disproving the Resurrection wasn’t easy! In fact, it was impossible. My research caused me to realize the case for the Resurrection of Jesus is powerful and persuasive. That evidence led me to my own faith in Christ, and in the years since that investigation, I’ve been helping other Christians understand how we can have confidence in the biblical accounts of the Resurrection.”

Without the Resurrection of Christ, there is no hope. When hope ends, so does the need to exist. The grave becomes the ending point. There is no everlasting life. The purpose for living is thwarted.

The Resurrection of Christ is a valid and well-documented fact. Skeptics and critics alike continue to deny or decry the facts of the Risen Savior. What is greater than all the evidence that exists? The testimonies of those who have been transformed and renewed in their hearts and minds. You can rest assured the truth of the resurrection is real.
