Volunteer
From its inception, The Salvation Army has relied heavily on volunteers for support. Often referred to as “the army behind The Army,” volunteers play a crucial role in The Salvation Army’s ability to provide quality social services to entire communities. Volunteers in The Salvation Army change lives, uplift families and support communities throughout our nation every day.
“One of the hardest things I’ve ever done was helping put in 200 new bunk beds at The Salvation Army homeless shelter. We had to take apart and haul out the old beds, then bring in and assemble the new ones. It was hard work, but it was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.”
