The church should embody the teachings of Jesus Christ to people around the world. Sometimes the people who make up the church get it wrong and hurt people along the way. Church hurt, church trauma and toxic environments are common buzzwords that have been used to describe the church and the way people feel after being part of the church. “Raised To Stay” is a safe place for people who may feel like the church has done the wrong, they still have a deep love for Jesus. Some people have had tough experiences and don’t know how to express what they’ve gone through. Natalie does an excellent job communicating with her “stayers” of what it looks like to just stay locked into Jesus. It’s a place for people who may feel like the prodigal son or daughter who has wandered off or maybe the distant sibling who got treated unfairly due to the way people lead.
