“For All You Give” by The Paper Kites feat. Lucy Rose
“The melody and accompaniment were both simple in the most pleasant way.”To me, October is one of the most beautiful months of the year. The weather is cooling down, we are gearing up for the holiday season, and there always feels like there’s something fun and festive to do. My favorite type of music is in the acoustic singer/songwriter genre. I find that I lean toward this style whenever I’m looking for something cozy to listen to. A song I listened to recently, “For All You Give,” feels perfect for the fall season. It’s one of those songs that makes you feel like you’re somewhere else—like you’re sitting outside on a cool, relaxing night. All that’s accompanying the soft voices is a guitar, which is establishing a tranquil triple meter. It is such a pleasant, gentle duet all about a healthy, reciprocated romantic love. The tag of the song is, “For all you give, I’ll give it back to you.” Sometimes, it can be tricky to find music in this genre that isn’t overly sad or negative, since a lot of the genre tends to focus on heartache. This one, however, is one that is going to bring a smile to your face and remind you to take a deep breath.

Another acoustic song I listened to was “The Ship, The Sea.” This is a clean, uplifting love song all about the excitement, risk and adventure that is special to the bond that you have with the person you love. The melody and accompaniment were both simple in the most pleasant way.

“Where Does the Time Go” is reminiscent, all about saying goodbye to good moments and being grateful for the current ones. Sometimes, we take “the good, the bad and all the blessings in disguise” for granted. This song reminded me to really embrace the small things before they are gone.
