If the message “April showers brings May flowers” were a song, I think it would be “Broken Into Beautiful” by Hannah Hobbs. I like this song because of the lyrics more than anything. The goal of this song (at least in my opinion) isn’t to make you emotional, get you hyped or to show off impressive vocals. Those are not inherently bad things, but the focus in this song is glorifying God in the most stripped-down way. To be more specific, the song outlines the idea of transformation, becoming something new and glorifying God for all He has done, is doing and will do. It talks of the hope we have in the future (“All the stolen years will be restored / With the harvest we’ve been waiting for / And the house of God will overflow / Let it flow”). In a time of year where we might be busy with school, completing big work projects or ending large chapters in our lives, it can’t hurt to listen to a song like this and be reminded of the goodness of God that’s all around us, and how worthy He is of our praise. This is a great one for your devotional and quiet time playlist.

Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” is an optimistic song about taking a risk and trying something new alongside the person you love. I’m not a country music fan but listening to this song was so refreshing. If you’re looking for clean, feel-good music, this is one to add to your library.

@lizzieberchie

“Growth” by Lizzie Berchie is beautiful if you’re looking for a neo-soul sound. Lizzie has a voice that’s as smooth as honey and lyrics that are simple and easy to learn. It’s hard not to be relaxed when listening to her sing. There’s even an acoustic version of this song!
