Does my Enneagram number relate to my faith in anyway? How do I use my Enneagram for the glory of God?

It’s amazing to me that every person on the planet is unique, and yet we are all created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). The primary purpose of the Enneagram is self-knowledge, but I think that to truly know yourself, you must also know Who made you. The nine types that the Enneagram identifies each have a “core fear” and “core desire.” In other words, your Enneagram number speaks to what motivates you. What’s important to remember is that even though we might have different motivations, every one of us was made to glorify God, our Creator. Use what you learn about yourself through the Enneagram to sharpen your strengths, grow in your weaknesses and ultimately become more like Christ.

As Christians, is it OK to seek out therapy/counseling?

YES! Sometimes when we go through difficult situations, it becomes hard to process our thoughts, which then affect our emotions and behaviors and we get stuck in a cycle that we can’t get out of on our own. Sadly, there is a lot of shame in the Church about going to counseling and many people try to say that Christians should just pray about things and all will be well. Yes, prayer is important and is the most powerful tool that we have, but Christians are still humans who face painful situations affecting the way we feel. Just like how you would go to the doctor when you’re sick, for a broken leg or cancer, we can also go to a therapist that will help us with our emotions. God cares about every single part of us, even our emotional and mental health! Dr. Anita Phillips, LCSW-C says, “Therapy is sacred work for the Christian because in taking care of ourselves emotionally, we are actually more powerful spiritually.” So, let’s remove the stigma from counseling and reach out if you need the help!

Exam week is coming. How can my faith tie into helping me finish strong?

Aren’t we all called to give our best in everything we do? Giving your best to God can be shown right now by finishing strong. After all the assignments, tests and papers are done, have you given it your all? Have you done what Christ has called you to do? You came here to continue learning how to share the love of Christ to others … so finish well. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”
(2 Timothy 4:7).
