I have been burned quite a few times in my history of writing “Star Wars” reviews. All of Disney’s live-action series start well, but over the course of the run, quickly deteriorate in quality and enjoyment. (Most shows are only a few episodes in when I write the review, so this is reflected in the initial scores.) Thus far, “Ahsoka” has been enjoyable overall and I’m cautiously optimistic about its run. We’ll start with the negatives: the CGI quality is noticeably inconsistent and the directing for Ahsoka’s character is dreary. Rosario Dawson is a great actress and could thrive in this role, but the direction and writing she’s given make her seem dour and uninteresting to watch. “Star Wars: Rebels” heavily ties into “Ahsoka,” and fans of the aforementioned program are given a lot of moments and characters to love, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s performance as Sabine Wren being notable. “Rebels” is so intrinsic to “Ahsoka’s” plot. Central to the plot is a terrible threat looming over the galaxy. Despite warnings of the coming danger, the New Republic turns a blind eye to signs.

As Christians, many times we let our guard down when things seem quiet. However, Scripture tells us to, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are” (1 Peter 5:8-9).
