The Bad Batch

Disney seems to be on a hot streak lately in the galaxy far, far away with more great stories. Characters from the creators of the critically acclaimed “The Clone Wars” grace the screen with “The Bad Batch.” Following the sudden and surprising end to the clone war, Special Operations Squad Clone Force 99 find themselves in a rapidly changing and hostile galaxy where a dark empire rises. Following closely off 2020’s Season 7 of “The Clone Wars,” “The Bad Batch” carries over the beautiful animation, serious tone and stellar voice work of the aforementioned series. The show is accessible to any viewer; however, fans of Star Wars are sure to get the most out of it. There are plenty of tie-ins from the larger universe ranging from the prequels to “The Mandalorian” and plenty of action, adventure and chaos ensue throughout the show. Thankfully, despite following a battle-hardened special forces team, “The Bad Batch”takes time to deliver softer and heartfelt moments—mostly through newcomer Omega. (Who, in my opinion, is one of the most precious Star Wars characters ever.) I may be a little biased, but I find the show to be highly enjoyable.

High School Musical: The Musical, The Series.

The high-school drama continues in season two of “High School Musical: The Musical, The Series.” Picking up where the previous season left off, season two wastes no time in reintroducing the returning cast as well as bringing in plenty of new drama-filled plot points with all the musical trimmings.

Triumph

Rating: PG-13

“Triumph”follows the true story of a young man with cerebral palsy and a dream to wrestle. While it’s not the most technically polished or unique film, it is full of heart and the story of sheer determination in the face of adversity is sure to speak to anyone watching.
