Does Season Two of “Loki” Hold Up?

By the end of its run, I thought that season one of “Loki” was just alright, and after a few years of lackluster Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, I didn’t have high hopes for season two. But, as of the writing of this review, I can say that season two of “Loki” has been a pleasant surprise. The dialogue is quick and fun, the jokes are legitimately humorous and the actors don’t seem like they’re just cashing a paycheck. (Looking at you, “Thor: Ragnarok”!) The addition of Ke Huy Quan to the cast is brilliant, complimenting the duo of Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson nicely. The zany time travel aspects continue, and they’re done in a way that allows for some creative situations and subsequent problem solving. Throughout the show, Loki finds himself bouncing back and forth through time, working to stop an imminent threat.

Our perception of time is linear and fixed; we only exist in the present and therefore can only act in the present. Ephesians 5:15-16 (NIV) says, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” We may not be facing a supernatural time hopping villain, but we should still be doing the good that we can in the time that we have.
