After the death of her parents and a lengthy reign of terror under an evil queen, Snow White must find a way to save her people. As another live-action remake from Walt Disney Studios, this version of “Snow White” tries to simultaneously reinvent the classic story while keeping a majority of its iconic characters and set pieces. Unfortunately, the 2025 film fails to do either well — or is an unsurprisingly mixed bag. The songs are well performed, but many of the new tunes don’t really fit the film, often feeling out of place. The voice actors for the dwarves do a great job conveying their personalities, but the CGI is terrifying to behold. Ultimately, the film feels jumbled, unfocused and boring with a sprinkling of oddly-placed social commentary. “Snow White” has its flaws, but buried deep within remains a positive message. The princess is not considered to be fairest because of her beauty, but because of the person she is on the inside. As Christians, we demonstrate the nature of Christ not by our looks, but how we conduct ourselves. “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12, NIV).

Wolf King

Rating: TV-Y7 | Platform: Netflix

In a magic land ruled by a tyrannical lion usurper, Drew Ferran must survive long enough to master newfound abilities to become “The Wolf King.” While I enjoyed the story, setting and world-building, the show is plagued by inconsistent character work and more occult imagery than I am comfortable with.

Pokemon Concierge

After her life seems to go wrong, Haru needs a change of pace and ends up at the Pokémon Resort. While a short and simple series, “Pokémon Concierge” is a beautiful and comfortable show that reminds viewers to relax and enjoy the simple things, doubly so for Pokémon fans.
