10 Things to Add To Your Summer Bucket List
Whatever the items may be, the monthly bucket lists allow you to step out of your normal routine and experience adventure.Bucket lists can consist of things you want to accomplish throughout your life, but bucket lists can also be seasonal!
Seasonal bucket lists can consist of things that you want and hope to do that season. What are items on a summer bucket list? It can include visiting the farmer’s market twice a month—and then cooking a meal or two with the ingredients you purchased at the market. You can vow to see a concert in your city, go out to eat alone twice a month, or visit the library. Whatever the items may be, the monthly bucket lists allow you to step out of your normal routine and experience adventure.
Here are 10 things that you can put on your summer bucket list.
See a concert (or two).
Do you want to see your favorite artist or band in concert this summer? Maybe there’s a concert series in your city that features local and up-and-coming artists.
Visit the lake or beach.
Pack a beach bag and head to the nearest body of water! Lounge on a beach chair or towel to enjoy the scenic beauty and connection to nature. And it’s even better with friends!
Go to an amusement park.
Do you have an amusement park nearby? Buy a day pass and take a day to ride rollercoasters. If you don’t like rollercoasters, you can check out the arcade and numerous booths to compete for fun prizes.
Walk a hiking trail.
The summer season is the perfect season to get outdoors. There are hiking trails for the complete newbies and the experienced hikers! If you plan to check out a local hiking trail, it’s always safer to go with friends or family who are more experienced hikers.
Spend time with your grandparents.
Make time to visit your grandparents or any elderly loved ones. They want to spend time with you and may not have a lot of time left to visit with you. Offer to help them with any household chores that they need to get done but can’t.
Hit up your local thrift stores.
Looking for a new wardrobe? Looking for a few new pieces to spice up your wardrobe? Hit up thrift stores near you! Don’t just shop for summer clothes—out-of-season clothes, i.e., your fall wardrobe for the new school year, can be marked at lower prices! Check out your local Salvation Army Family Thrift Store for some new pieces this summer and throughout the year.
Go to camp.
Did you know that The Salvation Army operates 42 residential summer camps and hundreds of day camps across the country? Each year, children enjoy the fresh air, exercise and new friendships at these summer camp programs. All summer camps present the opportunity to know Jesus Christ personally, setting Christian principles as the foundation for this camping ministry.
Play a sport with friends.
Whether you want to get more active this summer or practice in the off-season, grab friends and get to the local park to play a sport. Baseball, kickball, football—so many options!
Tackle your reading list.
What’s better than sitting outside in the warm weather, on a beach towel, and reading a captivating book? What about on those summer rainy days when you can curl up on the couch by the window and dive into your newest read.
Volunteer.
Volunteer for The Salvation Army or another organization this summer! This is a wonderful opportunity to give back, gain experience and make friends!
