Marvel’s “Wonder Man” Is For The Overthinkers
"I wasn’t expecting much but I was surprised to find a competent, personal story that I was completely invested in by the end."Rating: TV-14 | Platform: Disney+
What do you do when your dream is so close but can unravel at any moment? When Simon Williams has a chance to audition for the role of a lifetime, he finds an unlikely friend in Trevor Slattery, played by Ben Kingsley, the actor who once terrified the United States as the Mandarin in “Iron Man.”
I was genuinely surprised by “Wonder Man.” I wasn’t expecting much but I was surprised to find a competent, personal story that I was completely invested in by the end. My biggest complaint was the excessive swearing. The show couldn’t go more than 10 minutes without dropping an expletive, so that made it a bit difficult to watch. One of Simon’s flaws is that he can’t get out of his own way; he overthinks and paralyzes himself with perception. It takes Trevor’s influence and voice to get Simon back on track. It is crucial for the Christian to listen to God, especially when tempted by sin. “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control’” (Psalm 32:8-9). Be it through prayer or Scripture, God guides His people.

GOAT
Rating: PG | Platform: Netflix
Do you have what it takes to be the greatest of all time (GOAT)? Will is certainly going to give it his best alongside his childhood hero trying to prove that she still has more to give. While not the most innovative story, “GOAT” is a decent experience with some unfortunate off-color humor.

Miracle: The Boys of ‘80
Rating: TV-14 | Platform: Netflix
In the light of the most recent Olympic Winter Games, “Miracle: The Boys of ‘80” takes a look back at one of the most iconic moments in sports history. While it was interesting to learn more about the players and coaches, multiple instances of strong explicit language soured the experience.
