Jervis Campbell Makes Five with “good grief!”

New in the Christian music scene this month is Jervis Campbell’s album, “good grief!” This is the fifth album for Jervis Campbell, who has only been releasing music in the last five years. He’s a talented new artist who’s credited for co-writing and co-producing many of his songs. Jervis’s music falls into a relaxing mix of pop and folk sounds, making it light and easy to listen to. The best part, at least for me, is that his music points to God and His goodness.

One of my favorite songs from this album is called “move on,” a positive, refreshing song about moving past the pain, or even just the mundanity, of the past. Through his lyrics, Jervis reminds us that God helps us to move forward without looking back on the hurt that has come our way.

Another song I love from this album is “stuck in these clouds.” This song is simpler, leaning more toward the folksy nature of his sound. Jervis sings about calling to God in times where he’s stuck in a rut, rather than giving up. The more we turn toward God, the easier it is for His light to shine through us!

#morethanenough

If you’re usually a fan of R&B but are looking for songs and artists that are Christ-centered, I’d suggest listening to “More Than Enough” by Ryan Ellis and Lee Vasi. These two have some of the smoothest voices, blending together to create the most chill, down-to-earth song of praise.

Chris Renzema recently released “Come Back to Me,” written from the perspective of the prodigal son’s father. The song is gentle, with a rise at the end when the son returns. It’s a sweet reminder that God’s arms are open to us no matter how far we’ve wandered.
