Candlelit spaces add romance, warmth and comfort to any room. But not only can it be romantic, lighting a candle is a sign of peace, serenity, prayer, and support for or of someone. Candles also symbolize positivity.
Floating candles have become a hit over recent years, turning a simple candle into something more luxurious. It only takes a couple of items from your local thrift store and your home to add this dash of romance to your Valentine’s Day! Here’s how you can create a floating candle.

Items
Clear vase, cup, water glass, or any glass container that can hold a liquid; tealight candles; 2 cups of water; 1 cup of oil; lighter; clear rocks or rose petals.
Steps
- Wash and dry your glass container of choice.
- Add chosen materials (clear rocks, rose petals, etc.).
- Pour the water into the glass container, ensuring that the candle wick remains elevated above the rim of the glass container.
- Pour the oil into the glass container.
- Place the tealight candle into the glass container, ensuring it floats properly and remains in a vertical position.
- Light your candles and watch them shine!
