7 Study Hacks To Help You Prepare For Final Exams
Final exams are around the corner. Looking for tips to help you to be successful on your exams? Here are seven study hacks to help you prepare, and ensure less stress and more success.
1. Create a study schedule.
In your planner, write all the subjects you have exams for. Assign time for each subject. This gives you a clear picture of all the subjects you need to study for, and how much time you want to dedicate to each subject.
2. Write it out.
Write and rewrite your notes. Typing out your notes is helpful, but when you put pen to paper, it helps your brain make sense of the concepts.
3. Teach What You Learn.
If you’re a verbal processor, or auditory learner, explaining concepts out loud can help solidify understanding. Even if you’re not a verbal processor, talking it out and “teaching what you learn” to a friend, family member or even an imaginary audience can help you explain and understand concepts.
4. Put Your Phone Away.
Silence all notifications. Set a timer for one hour on your phone and put it on the opposite side of the room. Don’t look at your phone until the timer goes off.
5. Prioritize Your Weak Points.
Identify your weaker subjects to dedicate more study time for these subjects. Spending more time on areas you struggle with can lead to big improvements.
6. Study in Short, Focused Sessions.
Instead of one long cram session, break up study sessions into short, focused sessions. Divide your study material into smaller chunks and review them multiple times.
7. Get Enough Sleep.
Stick to a regular sleep schedule. It’s not only good for your physical and mental health, but it helps with understanding and retaining concepts.
