Series Review: The Final Battle in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”
All wars must come to an end.Rating: TV-PG
Service: Disney+
The beloved animated show that defined and created an entire generation of “Star Wars” fans returns for one last battle. The final season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” bridges the gap between the waning moments of the galactic conflict and the beginning of Revenge of the Sith. While the show holds more meaning for fans that have kept up with the previous seasons, the quality storytelling, character work and polished animation should still provide enjoyment for first-time viewers. Personally, as a fan of the prequel era of “Star Wars,” I find the show to be a fantastic showcase in worldbuilding and character development; characters that seemed flat in the films are fleshed out, their stories are tight and overall, a lot of fun to watch. The animation quality is top-notch, using a blend of CGI and motion-capture technology to create some of the most fluid action sequences ever created for an animated show. That’s not to say that it’s all action. Some episodes are full of emotional weight. It may not be for everyone, but if you have an open weekend, I would definitely recommend the final season of “The Clone Wars.” By Micah Trimmer
