In “Toy Story 5,” Is There a Place for Toys Anymore?

With the advent of increasingly more connected technology, is there truly a place for toys anymore?

I believe that the “Toy Story” franchise should have ended with “Toy Story 3,” so when “Toy Story 5” was announced, my enthusiasm was at an all-time low. While I still think that the third movie was the perfect conclusion, “Toy Story 5” is an improvement over the fourth film. The story is compelling, although there is a tertiary plot that interrupts the pacing and where Buzz and Woody are severely underused. I enjoyed Jessie as the lead, but I wish that the original duo had more to do. Interpersonal change is pivotal to the story, and when we are separated from those we love, how should we handle it? Paul wrote to the Philippians: “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now” (Philippians 1:3-5). The time we have with each other may be limited, but it is nothing less than a gift from God.

Behind the Attraction (Season 3)

Rating: TV-PG | Platform: Disney+

“Behind the Attraction” returns and covers Disney’s lucrative cruise business with enough sailing puns to make one seasick. While the show mainly serves as a giant advertisement for the entertainment juggernaut, it’s cool to see a lot of the aspects that go into making these ventures work.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

Rating: PG-13 | Platform: Disney+

As bounty hunter Din Djarin and Grogu take jobs hunting imperial warlords, the New Republic sends the pair on a new adventure. The film is full of action, but absolutely nothing else. The plot is thin, character development is nonexistent, and I found the experience to be atrociously boring.
