After preventing a war, Superman finds himself fighting enemies on every front. Growing up, Superman and the Justice League were my favorite superheroes, so when the first trailers for “Superman” (2025) released, I grew excited to see another version. After seeing the movie, my feelings are very mixed. To me, the film is composed of atmospheric highs and abysmal lows. I’ll start with the great. The casting is absolutely perfect. David Corenswet is fantastic, playing the title character with a sincerity that has been missing for years while Nicolas Holt contrasts as the brilliant but petty Lex Luthor. The score and supporting cast added depth and flavor to the world, bringing a comic book-like quality that worked in the best possible way. Unfortunately, the pacing suffers from overstuffed action scenes but my biggest issue with the film stems from unnecessary vulgar language and excessive suggestive content. While Superman is vastly powerful, his greatest strength remained his character. This reminds me of Jesus, depicted in Philippians 2:6-7 (NIV) — “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”

The Bad Guys 2

Rating: PG

When a new player to the crime game forces them out of retirement, “The Bad Guys” must fight to prove their innocence. While I didn’t appreciate some of the coarse language and jokes, the film is still a worthy sequel to the original, with stylish animation and endearing character dynamics.

Eyes of Wakanda

Rating: TV-14 | Platform: Disney+

There are agents assigned to the missions too secretive for the Dora Milaje and   War Dogs. “Eyes of Wakanda” follows the War Dogs across time as they protect Wakanda from the shadows. I appreciated the new art style, but some of the questionable content brings my rating one number down.
